چکیده

General expressions are obtained for the mean and variance of the number of events in a fixed but arbitrary sampling time for a nonparalyzable dead-time counter. The input is assumed to be a Poisson point process whose rate is a stochastic process, and the dead time is assumed to be small in comparison with the fluctuation time of the driving process. The mean is shown to depend only on the first-order statistics of the rate, whereas the variance is formally shown to depend on both the firstand the second-order statistics of the rate. For the particular process arising in the detection of chaotic light, an explicit expression is obtained for the dependence of the dead-timemodified variance on the power spectrum of the radiation. It is demonstrated that the variance takes on a particularly simple form for chaotic light with Lorentzian and Gaussian spectra. In the regime in which our study is valid, it turns out that the dead-time dependence of the variance is contained in a multiplicative function that is essentially independent of the spectral properties of the light.

Manipulation of photon statistics of highly degenerate incoherent radiation.

Highly degenerate incoherent radiation has a Gaussian density matrix and a large occupation number of modes f. If it is passed through a weakly transmitting barrier, its counting statistics is close to Poissonian. We show that a second identical barrier, in series with the first, drastically modifies the statistics. The variance of the photocount is increased above the mean by a factor f times ...

Image encryption based on chaotic tent map in time and frequency domains

The present paper is aimed at introducing a new algorithm for image encryption using chaotic tent maps and the desired key image. This algorithm consists of two parts, the first of which works in the frequency domain and the second, in the time domain. In the frequency domain, a desired key image is used, and a random number is generated, using the chaotic tent map, in order to change the phase...

A general relationship is presented between the statistics of thermal radiation from a random medium and its scattering matrix S. Familiar results for black-body radiation are recovered in the limit S → 0. The mean photocount ¯ n is proportional to the trace of 1 1 − S · S † , in accordance with Kirchhoff's law relating emissivity and absorptivity. Higher moments of the photocount distribution ...

Finite Time Mix Synchronization of Delay Fractional-Order Chaotic Systems

Chaos synchronization of coupled fractional order differential equation is receiving increasing attention because of its potential applications in secure communications and control processing. The aim of this paper is synchronization between two identical or different delay fractional-order chaotic systems in finite time. At first, the predictor-corrector method is used to obtain the solutions ...

An Optimized PID for Capsubots using Modified Chaotic Genetic Algorithm (RESEARCH NOTE)

This paper proposes a design for a mesoscale capsule robot which can be used in gaining diagnostic data and delivering medical treatment in inaccessible parts of the human body. A novel approach is presented for the capsule robot control: A PID-controlled closed-loop approach. A modified chaotic genetic algorithm will be used to optimize the coefficients of PID controller. Then, simulation will...
